মেয়ের বাবার কাছে বিদায় নিয়ে বাড়িতে পৌঁছালে,ওই দিনই একটি গাড়ি ঠিক করে আসি , আগামী কাল মেয়ের বাড়ি রেজিস্ট্রি বিয়েতে যাওয়ার জন্য । বাবা-মা, মামা-মামী ও দাদু-দাদীকে বলে রাখলাম মেয়ে দেখতে যাওয়ার জন্য । পরের দিন সকালে মা আমাকে বলে - তুই কুনোর গিয়ে তোর ছোট বোনের শাশুড়িকে নিয়ে আয়, আমাদের সঙ্গে যাবে ।
আমি মায়ের কথামতো বাইক নিয়ে গিয়ে বোনের শাশুড়িকে নিয়ে আসি । কুনোর যেতে আসতে ঘড়িতে ১১:২৫ বেজে গেছে । বাড়িতে এসে দেখি সবাই তৈরি হয়ে আমার জন্য অপেক্ষা করছে । আমি সবাইকে গাড়িতে ওঠার কথা বলে, তাড়াতাড়ি স্নান করে বাড়ি থেকে বেরিয়ে একটু এগোতেই আমার মোবাইল বেজে ওঠে । পোকেট থেকে মোবাইল বের করে দেখি উদয় দা কল করেছে । কল রিসিভ করে হ্যালো বলতেই , উদয় দা বলে - " তোমরা সবাই কতদূরে আছো " । আমি বললাম - " আমরা সরলা পেরিয়ে গিয়েছি । এক ঘন্টার মধ্যে পৌঁছে যাবো "। উদয় দা - " তোমরা সবাই ওইখানে থেকে বাড়ি ফিরে যাও "। আমি - " বুঝলাম না , বাড়ি ফিরে যাবো মানে "। উদয় দা - " তুই সবাইকে বাড়িতে রেখে , তুই আর জামাইবাবু বাইক নিয়ে মেয়ের বাড়ি আয় । আসলেই বুঝতে পারবি । আমি ফোন রাখছি "।
আমি কিছু বলতেই যাচ্ছিলাম এমন সময় কল কেটে যায়। সবাই অনেক আশা নিয়ে গাড়িতে উঠে বসে আছে । শুধু আমার অপেক্ষা , আমি পৌছালেই গাড়ি স্টার্ট করবে । আমি কিছু না ভেবে পেয়ে রঞ্জিত জামাইবাবুর মোবাইলে কল করে সবাইকে বাড়ি ফিরে আসতে বলি । আমার এই কথা শুনে সবাই অবাক হয়ে যায় এবং বাড়িতে ফিরে আসে এবং আমাকে জিঙ্গাসা করে - "কী ব্যাপার , আমাদের গাড়ি থেকে নেমে আসতে বললি কেন "? আমি সমস্ত ঘটনা খুলে বলি সবাইকে । এই কথা শুনে সবার মধ্যে অনেক প্রশ্নের উদ্ভব হয় ।
