এরপর বাড়িতে পৌঁছালে প্রভাত দা নিজের বাড়িতে চলে যায় । আমি বাবাকে এপয়েন্টমেন্ট লেটার দেখাই । এপয়েন্টমেন্ট লেটার দেখে বাবা খুব খুশি হয়ে যায় । চাকুরীতে জোয়েন্ট হতে মাত্র ছয় দিন সময় আছে । আর এর আগে বাকী দুই লক্ষ টাকা জমা দিতে হবে । এই ছয় দিনের মধ্যে অত টাকা জোগাড় হবে কী করে ? বাবা আমাকে জয়নাল স্যারকে কল করতে বলে । আমি স্যারকে কল করি । কল রিসিভ করলে আমি বাবাকে মোবাইল দিই । বাবা জয়নাল স্যারকে বলে - " দাদা , আমরা জোয়েন্ট এর পর টাকা দেব । কারণ এই পাঁচ দিনের মধ্যে অত টাকা জোগাড় করা সম্ভব নয় " । স্যার বাবাকে বললেন - " ঠিক আছে, আপনি গঙ্গারামপুর অফিসে গিয়ে এই কথাটি বলবেন " । তারপর আমি, বাবা ও রঞ্জিত ( জামাইবাবু ) তিন জনে মিলে অফিসে গেলাম । সেখানকার আধিকারিকদের বিষয়টি জানাই । উনারা আমাদের কথায় সহমত হয়ে বললেন - " তবুও আপনাদের জোয়েন্ট হওয়ার আগে এক লক্ষ টাকা দিতেই হবে । আর বাকী টাকা পরে দেবেন " । অফিস থেকে বাড়িতে পৌঁছালে জয়নাল স্যার আমাদের বাড়ি চলে আসেন এবং বাবাকে বলেন - " আপনি টাকার জন্য ভাবছেন কেন? ছেলের বিয়ে লাগান তাহলেই টাকার ব্যবস্থা হয়ে যাবে " । তারপর শুরু হয়ে গেল মেয়ে দেখার পালা । এক ঘটক এখানে তো আর এক ঘটক সেখানে মেয়ে দেখায় । কোথাও পছন্দ হচ্ছে কিন্তু টাকা দিতে পারবে না । আবার কোথাও পছন্দ হচ্ছে না কিন্তু টাকা দিতে পারবে । এইভাবে করে চার দিনে কুড়িটি মেয়ে দেখা হয়ে গেলেও কোথাও সম্বন্ধ তৈরি হল না । অন্য দিকে সময় সংকীর্ণ । কী করে টাকা জোগাড় করা সম্ভব তা নিয়েই বাড়ির লোকের চিন্তা । যাইহোক...................।
